I am not sure what type of a/c refrigerant that my vehicle uses. I have spoken with a local auto a/c repair shop and they have told me that from 1994 forward R-134A was used. Is this correct?

You should have R12 but maybe it was coverted.Look at the charge port on the accumulator if it looks a little bigger than say the valve on your tire then is is R12. If they are big and have no threads then you have 134A.
Any AC shop can test the charge and tell what it is.
Hope this helps
