Water was leaking from intake manifold gasket. Mechanic replaced intake manifold gasket & thermostat. Picked up vehicle & broke down with knocking in the engine in less than 40 miles. Towed back to same shop & they said engine is no good now. What could have happened when they worked on my vehicle?

they didnt change the oil. check for a new filter, anti freeze got into the bearings. i would say its there fault, unless you drove it for a while with it leaking coolant
