1989 GMC Jimmy fuel pump

I didn't drop the tank to replace my fuel pump. This guy talked me into using a pump you mount along with fuel lines. Now I don't know what the hell is wrong. I should have dropped the tank. I have every thing hooked up right is the pump or something from my tank causing a problem also I replaced my fuel lines because they were cut and so theres another problem. I tried to start the jimmy but it just cranks no start

Tee in a fuel pressure gauge and read the pressure-Is the pump coming On when you turn key On? If not look for power at the fuel pump connector-got power there check ground connection-okay replace the pump.
