1997 GMC C2500 Fuel pump

1997 GMC C2500 V8

I was given a GMC2500 truck but the ignition switch has been torned out. I got it to turn over and it is getting spark. But it appears that the fuel is not being fead to the carb. I was wondering if the computer, if this truck has one, will keep it from running the fuel pump?

P.S. I am a soldier in Iraq at with no cash to donate. Sorry.

Do you hear the fuel pump come on for a few secs-if so check the fuel pressure and also check if the injectors are pulsing. You don't hear the pump-check the IGN E mini fuse 10amp, fuel pump balance relay.
