Chevorlet Firing order

1990 Chevorlet C1500 truck 140,000mi, V6

I replaced the distrubutor in my truck and thought
I had marked it correctly before I removed it. After
replacing the distributor it`s getting fire but won`t
start. Could someone tell me how to get the #1 cylinder in the right place and where the rotor button
should be pointing. I also need the correct firing order.

Thanks

On a v-6 chevy the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. The dist. turns clockwise and #1 is the first one on the drivers side. Closest to the front of car. On the dist. cap #1 can be wherever you want. Bring #1 up on comp. stroke and see where your dist. rotor is pointing and that point can be number one. Wire the rest in order from there going clockwise around the cap. Good luck and hope this helps you out. :D
