1995 GMC C1500 Idle air control

I have a 1995 Gmc c1500 with a 4.3L V6 and my service engine soon light came on. When I pulled the code it was for the Idle air control valve. I replaced it and reset the computer the next day I drove to work and the light came back on and it was the same code.

Did you clean up the passages thouroughly if so test the wiring back to the computer for open and short
