Check oil pressure light
2009 GMC Acadia 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 13000 miles
I have had a warning with beeping occur about half a dozen times lately while driving, it says 'check oil pressure light, turn off engine'. This is after a recent oil change and the gauges look normal so it's like it's a computer malfunction.
Answer
GM Oil Life System Resetting
If the vehicle does not have a Driver Information Center (DIC):
Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
Fully press and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds.
Turn the key to OFF.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message comes back on when you start the vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
If the vehicle has a DIC:
Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
Press the MODE button until the DIC reads OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET.
Press and hold the SET button until 100 percent is displayed.
You will hear 3 chimes and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off.
Turn the key to OFF.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message comes back on when you start the vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
the warning isn't to reset the notification about when to change the oil or reset the oil life setting, it says "check oil pressure, turn off engine' with beeps like your seatbelt isn't on.
