Like the title says. Along with a host of K-CAN codes, cant get rid of cat code. I have installed an aftermarket catalytic and sensors. After reading BMW's don't like them I spent the cash and got OEM. New gaskets, new sensors, still there.

Also have an alternator code, don't know if its related.

I find it's weird it's just the catalytic code. No O2 sensor codes, also on cold start, it thinks the catalytic is up to temperature (see pics).

I also replaced both vanos sensors. I read sometimes they affect it.

I'm at a loss, anyone?

This sounds like the PCM is out. can I ask if the alternator is charging ?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-alternator

if so the PCM has lost its ability to monitor systems with is typical when a PCM goes out. The only way to confirm the issue is to replace it here are the instructions in the diagrams below on how to fix it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Yes, with a DVOM and the system confirm its charging between 14.2 and 14.5vdc.

The car runs smooth and perfect, I get 37+mpg.

Wow, old thread, sold the car. Needed a BMW/mini cat. Plus there was the exhaust valve seals leaking into the exhaust ruining the cat. Did valve seals, new cat, all good.
