my car has problems starting, i have to push on the gas a couple of times in order to start it i was wondering why? i just put a new battery in.

Check the fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge.
If OK then check spark at each cylinder as well as compression on each cylinder.
Hopefully it is something simple, like a partially clogged fuel filter, but running the above diagnostic tests will isolate the problem, without throwing parts at it.
