Just purchased this car and during the test drive everything seemed great once I got it home and drove for a little while the check engine light came on and I noticed in park position it is idling at 2500 rpm. Could this cause the check engine light to come on? How to I adjust the idle. Also once I bought the car they detailed it could something have gotten messed up during that process

Idle speed is not adjustable on fuel injected engines. It is computer-controlled. High idle is typically caused by a vacuum leak. For a really high idle you should find a pretty big leak like a cracked hose or one that fell off. If you can't hear it to find it with the engine running, spray water on the engine while it's running and still cold, then watch for where it gets sucked in or the engine slows down. You can also pinch off rubber hoses to work your way to the leak.
