I have the same problem as a previous post and your answer was to make sure the blend door is opening. We hear a knocking sound in our dash whenever we change temperature. It never gets hot, but we hear clicking or knocking. My question is how do you check the blend door?

The blend door will let you select which setting you would like. I.E. Defrost, dash vents, floor vents. If you change your selection and the blower is blowing, but not from the selected location it may be a blend door issue. If it is blowing in the proper location but the air is not warm and the engine terperature is then you may have a coolant circualtion problem.

Sorry, I probably wasn't clear enough. It is getting warm in the back, and each selection appears to work as it should. It's just not hot in the front. I'm pretty sure it's the blend door that is stuck or the gears are stripped. I have heard you have to tear the whole dash off and I've heard it's right behind the temp controls. Do you know which is correct for my 2001 Ford Windstar. Anything else you can provide, would be great. Thanks.
