My wife let our 17 year old daughter borrow her Winstar Friday. Our daughter inexplicably drove it with the heat all the way to the hottest temp and with the setting on MAX A/C. When she arrived back home the van was smoking coolant smell filled the air and coolant was all over our drive way. I thought i would just fill the coolant level back up and it would be ok I tried this and then drove it about 2 hours later and it started smoking once again. What could she have possibly done? and how do i fix my wifes van? Thanks!

Hello –

To better assist you is your model just the Windstar, or the LX, SE or SEL and what is the engine size in liter?

You need to perform a very good visual after you wash an coolant from any area on the engine. Then refill and start and use a strong light and look for any leaks, torn hoses etc…….

Is there any coolant inside the passenger compartment

Let me know what you find and the above question on your vehicle specific please.
