I AM LOOKING FOR THE PROPER PROCEDURE TO DIAGNOSE THESE CODES WITHOUT HAVING A SCAN TOOL. WHERE SHOULD I START FIRST? VISUAL INSPECTION, COMPRESSION READING?SO FORTH AND SO ON. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS STEADILY. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. ED PS I AM SORRY THAT I AM UNABLE TO DONATE AT THIS TIME I AM DISABLE ON A FIXED INCOME AND TRYING TO REPAIR THIS VEHICLE IS TAKING EVERY EXTRA PENNY I CAN PUT TOGETHER. THANKS AGAIN

Random misfire P0300 and misfire at cylinder 1/2.

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel
