I have a 04 F-150. When I am driving down the road and I let off the gas (to go down hill or in a turn going up hill) when I start to depress the gas pedal again the truck seems to be missing. If I tromp down on the gas it will go away, if I feather the gas it will miss and jump like the truck is coming apart. There are approx 80k miles on the truck. 5.4 liter

Misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
