Car was running just fine and always has. Started it up the other day and it is running very rough, barely ideling and there is a strong odor of gasoline.

My brother had similar problems with his 93. Our local mechanic thought it was the ignition module, or the coil pack (both around $150).

My brother ended up replacing the ignition module and it ran great. That might be somewhere for you to start anyway.
