Tempo Starting Problems. Throwing money at.

Car started fine last monday, stopped at gas station and car wouldn't restart--when I turned the key the power went way down as you could tell by radio and lights on the insturment panel. Tried jump starting it hours later and it started but when I turned it off and tried to restart it--the power gets sucked after the key got turned and wouldn't start even if jumped.

This is what I have done and to no avail: New battery, new solenoid relay, new lock cylinder and new starter switch. The car will start if cold but it won't start after turned off--the battery shows the same voltage before and after. The car still has the lights go dim and other accessories go weak but it returns to normal after 3-15 seconds if the car isn't tried to be started.

Have checked the fuses and have checked the wires to some extent; my next step is the starter and connections therein--I want to make sure this is the problem before throwing money at it--so it can be resolved. Any comments and brainstorms on how to achieve this would be appreciated.

Also: To make sure my new battery was right I took the battery from my wifes car and put it in the tempo and it did start right up but didn't want to restart--had same symptoms as above.

Sounds like the stater motor, but to be sure run a amp/voltage draw test. If you can't do this, take it off and have it tested at PEP bOYS, A Z, Advance, etc. The test is free.
