91 tempo heater wont change to floor vents

91 tempo, about 200,000 mi, automatic, 2.1 liter (I think). The heater controls are not changing to anything other than defrost. The fan blows fine, but the floor vents or panel vents never blow. Need help. It's the wifes car and winter is coming!!!

Check for a broken or leaking vacuum line under the hood that runs right along the upper edge of the firewall. It should be right along the edge about dead center behind the engine. I had the same problem with mine and found the vacuum line broken. Problem fixed. Hopefully it's the same for you. A dollar or two for a new vacuum line will be the only cost except for a few minutes of your time.
