the car will start and run, but when you turn it off and try to restart it, it cranks but no fuel pump sounds.
let it sit overnight and it starts.
any ideas?

Could either be the fuel pump relay or the pump itself. Also check for spark! If not spark problem do search of tempo forum for "fuel" and do some reading to get a better idea about problem and solution.
