Noises problem
1993 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i have just got a 93 tempo when i got it it seemed to be fine i drive a decant amont on the parkway and like two days ago i was on the park way going about 65 and the car stared to make kind of a knocking sound the sound is like the sound when ur strut is bad but it dosent do it when i go over any bumps or anything or when i speed up or slow down. it only makes the noice when im trying to stay at one speed. it manly dose it any where from 50 to 70 mph i dont drive over 70 so im not sure if it dose it over that. if someone can help me please and thanks

Any vibrations? Have the tires checked, you may have one seperating. Inspect suspension for anyhting obvious first, like bad/missing bushings

its more of a knocking then the a vibration

Could be a broken/cracked flexplate or a problem with the bottom end if it only makes it at light throttle cruise.Sometimes when under load the noise wont be heard, but at light/parrt throttle it unloads alot of parts adn then they wil make noise

in the morning if its not raining anymore i got try to find out whats wrong with the car i was trying to look up the flexplate u seid but i cant seem to find anything on it can u just tell me what it is where it is and what is its for and idont know if this has antthing to do with it but ever sence i got the car when i speed up the car pulls to the right and when it shifts or if i let of the gas it pulls to the right but i think it pulss to the right because of me trying to compinsate for it pulling to the right and the noise that we have been talking about is hard to say how it realy is but its kinda even like a banging thats maybe a half a sec. part as it dose it.

It may have a suspension problem that is causing the noise .If it pull sto the right.It may even be a bad axle that is doing it.The flexplate is between the motor and trans, im not sure if you can physically see it on your car.

ford tempo uses a single large sway bar(rod) that is u shaped and attached under front bumper and goes to both wheels at the lower ball joint. where on each one is a large rubber bushing. the end of bar/rod is secured by a large nut on the end. if this bushing fails it can be loud/noisy/clank/knock and throw off the alignment and make the car pull. also the bar is attached under bumper by 2 large clamps with bushings. if one of these is loose or missing same problem and symptoms.
