Electrical problem
1992 Ford Tempo

Car was running, but wouldn't start when left store. Only get a single click when turning ignition key. Sat over night and started on first try. Now just the click againl. Starter is only a couple months old so had Napa test it and it is a good starter.

My friend has checked the grounds and by passed everything by running hotwire directly from the battery to the starter and still it will not engage.

What else could it be?

Thanks,

Sara

HI there,

You will have to check the voltage at the starter, and make sure that power is at the starter solinoid with the key on crank, this is sounding like a faulty solinoid on the starter.
