Transmission problem
1992 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

i just replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing and now the shifter wont move. You can unhook the linkage from the tranny and it will move but when u hook the linkage back up the shifter wont move. Also with the linkage unhooked you cannot move the rod that comes out of the trans that the linkage bolts to. The car has me really irratated because the shifter worked good before I took the tranny out but now it doesnt. I dont understand it but of course it is a ford and I hate working on them. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks kyle

Did you put the clutch plate in backwards? If the trans was in gear at the time you reinstalled it that would likely account for the lockup? I have put discs in backwards with trans in neutral resulting in not being able to put trans in gear. Just a guess.
