1991 Ford Tempo Engine Stalls

sounds like spark problems? desribe the sputter more accurately? is it only when you accellerate? how good does it idle with and without air on? when was last tuneup? plugs and cap/rotor and coil wire are the big suspects on tempos!but it usually cut off momentarilly completely instead of sputter! i been fixin the grandkids tempo for 15yrs! coil wire goes bad or gets corroded inside ends especially coil end! on that old car i'd change the plugs before every winter! plug wires can also fail! sputter sounds like a plug or plug wire! check plugs for color! the dark/dingy 1 is the bad 1! plugs should be a light tan color. if they all look ok try plug wires. get a spare and swap till ya find the bad 1! dont touch them while car is running!!!!
