1989 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I was wondering why my 1989 ford tempo stopped working. After I had gas put it in.I started the egnition and heard a "clicking" sound from under the hood maybe. So I shut the car off aand restarted it too see if the clicking sound would stop but didnt. So I drove a few meters from the gas pumps and the car juss stalled. The engine turns over but will not start. Seems no gas is getting to the engine. If anyone has had these problems please email me.
need to try to get my vehicle going. But I also drove through rain puddles and slush from the snow could maybe wirees have gotten wet. Itz been two days now and still dont know whats wrong with it?

The timing is probably fine. It is auto controlled by the computer. Unless someone has messed with distributor to block position. You can look at inside of distributor cap at the spark plug wire posts and see the pattern of the spark as residue on the posts. If the distributor is out of position it will show as the residue not being centered but off to one side of posts or the other. If extreme enough this may make car harder to start//no start. While your in there, if the residue is thick, chip it off with the tip of a flat screw driver. As it can cause too much resistance to spark travel. And I have yet to encounter a 4cyl tempo with timing chain problems.
