Hi I just purchase a 1996 ford taurus gl the car is in perfect condition. It only has 79,000 miles on it.Well the girl I bought it off of said the transmission is leaking and she was told she would need a new one. She never got a second oppion. My hopes are tHAT MAYBE IT COULD BE A SEAL OR GASET BECAUSE THE CAR SHIFTS PERFECT BUT IT LEAKS AND TRANNY FLUID IS CLEAN. sO ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS WERE ITS COMMING FROM. tHERES ONLY DRIPS, NOT A HEAVY LEAK. aLSO WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL DOWN WHEN IN A COMPLEATE STOP. tHE CAR WILL HESITATE TO GO AND THEN WHEN I GET TO ABOUT 15 IT WILL START TO PICK UP SPEED BUT YET SEEMS LIKE IT WONT KICK IN ANY SUGGESTIONS. yET IF I DONT STOP LIKE A QUICK STOP AND GO THE CAR DRIVES FINE. ANY SUGGESTIONS

#1. your transmission - you might want to look to see if it's leaking in the front or back of the trans. if either you need to replace the seal(s)they are called front trans. seal and rear trans. seal. and if either doesn't work have it rebuilt.

#2. gas - you fuel injectors are cloged you either need to replace them or run some fuel injection cleaner through your gas tank to clean them.
