EGR Valve question

Recently I replaced the EGR valve in my 2001 ford taurus because the light came on and the computer said that was the problem. I then unhooked the battery to reset the light but it came back on. I took it back to have the computer test at shucks and it still says its the EGR valve! The car still runs funny(jerky and lacking power) and I am about fed up. Any ideas?

Hi
Did the shop clear the code after making the repair. If they did and the light came back on then, the EGR value probably wasn't bad to begin with. There is however something effecting it and preventing it from operating correctly. I'am not too familar with your car but there is probably a electrically solenoid that operates the value. This may be a place to start looking. There are also vacuum lines that are connect to the EGR value and should also be checked. Hope this helps.
