2003 ford taurus with 97,000 miles misfires and checking engine light is blinking. Had new spark plugs and wires installed from the dealership. Car ran fine for about a week, then it started to misfire again. Took it back to the dealership and now they said the rear fuel injector needed to be replaced. Took it another mechanic and he drove it around for a couple of days and said it ran fine. He recommended to just clean the fuel injector, which he did. A month and half later and it's doing the same thing again. Also noticed that at times the car seems to accelerate on it's own and when I put it in neutral the RPM's continue to increase. Please help. Running out of money and patience!! Thanks!

There were a few different codes, one from the dealer and one from the mechanic. I can get the codes, but they said it was a random misfire code. Weird thing also is I just put the car through emissions, where they hooked it up to a diagnostic machine and it passed with flying colors. I will get the throttle position censor checked out as advised and get the misfire codes. Thanks a lot your help is appreciated!!

P0300 Random misfire normally indicates a vacuum leak or bad fuel
