Before I took my vehicle into the mechanic to have some work done (major oil leak, power steering pump & hose and some other things), my vehicle ran fine & wasn't hesitating. After I got it back, I noticed if I pressed on the gas too hard in order to speed up quickly after being stopped, the check engine light would start blinking. I hooked my car up to a check engine diagnostic machine and it said that the 5th cylinder was misfiring at less than 1000 RPMs. I attempted to have the mechanic fix their mistake but they wouldn't even look at it without charging me again. Now I need to start from scratch and have noticed that the problem is slowly getting worse. It is hesitating and just doesn't seem like the engine is getting enough gas to make the vehicle move like it used to. If I let off the gas and then try again, the problems seems to stop for a while. If the check engine light had been blinking it will shut off until the car does it again. Any thoughts on why this might be happening?
