I have a 2002 Ford Taurus. A couple weeks ago my Heater Assembly cracked and caused my car to over heat. Well we replace the heater assembly and my check engine light is on and every time i am at an idle the car acts like it wants to die. We had someone tell us that the #1 was misfiring. We have changed the spark plugs, wires, ignition coil, #1 fuel injector, EGR Valve, EGR selnoid. There is absolutely nothing leaking from the car. We have no idea what else to try.

That is just it. they don't give us that code. I am going to go buy a reader today and see if that will help.

It's still setting a misfire code for Cylinder #1. If you have already covered the plug, wires, coil and injector, you'd better do a compression test next. I would also check for injector pulse with a noid light and spark with a spark tester at that cylinder to make sure they are both present.

My husband did the compression test and thought it was fine. I will double check. Also, he said everything is getting spark.

I think he needs to start over and check everything again. Something has to fail or it wouldn't be misfiring.
