2002 Ford Taurus Heat

When I use the heat in my car and it is idoling I smell a burnt rubber smell and the heat seems to not be working as well. Can you tell me what might cause this?

Do you smell it anywhere else on the car (from outside)? Oen the hood and check there.

It smells like that on the outside by the driver side, but not nessecarily when the hood is open.

Check under the car on the exhaust. Make sure nothing is sticking to it and melting.
