Hello,

The engine crankshaft angle sensor is located down in front of the engine at the crankshaft level here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job and the location of the sensor in the diagrams below.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

I need to replace the crankshaft position sensor on my 2003 Ford Taurus. I know it should be simple to replace but lack all but the most basic knowledge of vehicle engines. What I need is a diagram or detailed instructions of where the crankshaft position sensor is located on the engine and how to replace it.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Where do I find it? Do I need a hoist? Can I replace it myself?
Thank you, Larry

Lower right front of the engine and yes, you can replace it yourself. It's usually just bolted in and has a wiring connector that needs to be disconnected.
