I have a 2001 Ford Taurus with 65,000 miles on it. I have replaced the blower motor resistor due to the fact that the A/C fan would only run when set on the high position. Once I replace the resistor, the blower motor would work on all settings. However the resistor switch has gone bad again after approximatly two weeks. What is causing the blower motor resistor to malfunction.

I had to take the car to a mechanic to have the problem fixed. Ford has issued a service bulletin - TSB 04-15-3 to repair the problem. Ford has created a additional part called a Rain Hat to be installed to prevent the problem from happening in the future. Ford has not issued a recall to have the repair done at no charge as of 07/17/07. My total cost from the mechanic was approx $375.00. I would like to thank Justanold for the response to my question.
