Tested the alternator, chjecked the oil, checked the anti-freeze, checked the fuel pump, and still can not figure out why car will not start. Acts like it wants to turn over but will not fire. Please give me some options. Never had any problems befor.

Start with the basics, and work your way up, Last tune up was? Wires plugs ALL filters? If all that is ok, check for a stuck EGR, then test fuel pump pressure, If it won't restart, determine what's missing, the engine needs three things to run, Spark at all plugs, gas to all cylinders, and compression in all cylinders, tho an engine may run lacking one in one cylinder, it won't run very well!

and this one!
If no spark, check the crank sensor connection, I have seen a few Fords where they wiggle loose, just pushing it back on tight can solve it...

We hav narrowed it down to a wiring problem in engine harrnes but costs $585 for new one. Is there a least expensive way to do it. Lights all work. Wants to turn over but don't, All other things were tested and they are good. What else could it be?

You are not telling me if it's a no spark, or no gas problem? Which is it?

It is getting gas and it is getting spark and still will not turn over. It is truely a puzzle for us because we know quite a bit about cars.

If the check engine light is on pull the codes, if not have you done a compression test? Gas spark and compression are the three things needed to start!
