My car would not start in the 10 degree weather, after waiting a few hours if finally started and blew out white smoke. After it warmed up there was no more white smoke. However, now my check engine light is on. Do I have a problem with my engine or a sensor problem?

Was it a thick white smoke or a bluish-white smoke. It sounds like it was just loaded up with fuel and flooded itself out. But if you have the codes checked and post back we may be able to more accurately determine if there is something more serious wrong or if you just have a sensor issue.
