Shakes or Wobbles problem
1999 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Automatic 126700 miles

I'm concern with the heavy shakes-vibrations the car goes through when accelerating pass 65 (about 75MPH). The wheel shakes so much it feels like the car itself is rumbling. So I don't go pass 70. The other problem is that same vibration/rumbling of the wheel and car occurs when I break. I'm not slamming on the pad and i'm not at 60 or 70 mphs. This is when driving at about 45-55 and I tap of the breaks to gradually decrease speed before coming to a stop light or sign. I starting paying more attention and realize when driving it sounds like something is rubbing or dragging? Its not a loud sound, but I can feel it sometimes and I hear it when I have the music off or low.
i don't own the vehicle.I'm somewhat of a care taker of it, having been allowed to use it for my transportation needs. But i'm concerned if these things are dangerous signs or warnings.

I don't know when the last tune up was or oil change and not sure if that is the resolution to what I have explained. I appreciate you time and patience along with you advise on what I should do.

Thank You

I hould have the front steering parts check, and the engine and transmission mounts too. Sable and Taurus tend to warp rotors quickly, so they may need replacing as well.

I'm not a mechanic, but I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE that constantly has the same problem. The problem lies in your front brake rotors. I have to have mine turned and/or replaced at least yearly. It deals with heat of the rotors and water that tends to warp them. Hope this helps.
