My car overheated and I towed to mechanic. He replaced the head gasket and sent the valves in. The head was not cracked. When I got it back the oil light flashes when I step on the brake and idle. Mechanic says this could be the oil pressure is low as the barrings are showing ols age and maybe the result of overheating. He replaced the oil switch but it still flickers when I idle. He says it will be ok. Is he right. He did say try to get a new car in the next year or so.
