Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The coolant reservoir is overflowing, even though it's not overfilled with coolant..it only does it the second time it's started, drove, and turned off..i'm guessing because of compression? I disconnected the top hose on the reservoir, the one that leads from the top of the motor, to the reservoir...i started it with the reservoir cap on, and put the hose in a cup of water, and watched it blow air bubbles. and saw what looks like motor oil mixing with antifreeze, (it would be running through the reservoir, and through the radiator if the hose was on)..so i'm guessing its a bad head gasket..but it's NOT overheating, or there IS no steam comming from the exhaust. i checked the heads and they are'nt leaking oil...what could be the problem?

You can buy a small kit its like a fluid that change color when exhaust gas goes thru it
you can fill that cup with that fluid and do the same
and then you will know for sure if its a head gasket issue
