I own a 1996 ford taurus we have replaced all gaskets and thermostat/thermostat housing unit and new water pump new spark plugs and put new o rings on. We are very unsure about driving it because when you start the car smells of exhaust and bogs down to almost stauling and engine will start to shake more now then ever, when you put it in any gear. but it does not staul. It sounds pretty rough when in gear. we have asked around and we took it to advance auto, they said the code says its definatley a valve but they dont know which one, some others have said ACI OR EGR Valve or possible vaccum leak. please help!
