This is an intermittent problem! Car always starts from a cold start (overnight in a garage). While doing errands, car does not start at times. No clicking sound when turning key; all caution lights illuminate; alternator and battery have been tested and are perfect (has been to garage for this problem twice). Mechanic suggested moving the shift lever slightly within the P range; does not seem to have any effect. It may not start after five attempts but on the sixth attempt starts perfectly.

Follow the + battery cable to the starter solenoid, when the car is acting up, use a screwdriver and connect the terminal the + battery cable connects to, and the small single blur/red wire without unplugging the wire if it cranks now, replace the solenoid. Remove the Negative _ battery cable before doing the replacement, and attach it last! This will protect against accidental shorting of wires.
