Check Headlight Switch Operation

Ensure headlight switch is off. Disconnect headlight switch connectors. If headlights are off, replace headlight switch. If headlights are still on, go to next step.

Check Circuit No. 15

Remove autolamp headlight relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in engine compartment near battery. If headlight are off, go to next step. If headlights are on, repair short to battery in circuit No. 15 (Red/Yellow wire).

Check Autolamp Relay Ground Circuit

Remove autolamp parking light relay from PDC. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Blue/Orange wire) at autolamp headlight relay wiring harness connector.
If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace autolamp headlight relay.
Check Light Sensor Amplifier

Reconnect all components. Disconnect light sensor amplifier, located in defroster grille, top left of dash. If headlights are off, replace light sensor amplifier. If headlights are on, repair short to ground in circuit No. 218 (White/Purple wire) to headlight switch.
