hey there i just recently noticed i have a small gas leak um when i looked underneath my car i notice it looks like the gas is leaking from the top of the tank could it possibly be just a hose or ? i was told today there might be a little almost like a tiny trap door type thing under my back seat of my taurus that will give u access to the top of fuel tank but im not 100% i dont wanna tear seat out and find out there is no such thing

If it is leaking from there, chances are either a rubber hose is leaking or the actual sending unit. As far as the door, I don't believe the taurus has it.

The seat will come out if you want to check. The rear seat isn't bolted in but rather clipped into place.
