When do you change the timing chain/belt in a 1995 ford taurus?

Is it necessary to change the chaing/belt?

Hi
Well the timing chain your car has is not like a belt to change this part is a pretty major deal. Most people don, t until they break and the car doesn;t run.

But if you just want the satisfaction of knowing it has been changed then 100 thousand would be a good time. However when these things break they don, t do the damage, that you;ve prob have happen to overhead cam engines.

So I wouldn, t worry about it when it gets bad it will rattle usually before it breaks. Ty BillyMac
