A friend of mine has a 1994 Ford Taurus that turns over but won't start. I checked the fuel pressure on the fuel bar (getting 40psi) and checked ignition for fire (getting good fire). He replaced the black box on top of the radiator. Checked all fuses both inside cab and under hood. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You need 4 things for a car to start: gas, spark, compression, and timing.

You're getting gas and spark. The next step is to check your compression on at least 3 cylinders. If that passes, then check your timing.

The two main components that directly affect timing are the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.

I don't know if you are allowed to adjust the timing using a timing light - that is usually covered by the two sensors mentioned above.
