I have a 1994 ford taurus v6 3.0 automatic trany everytime I step on the brake it blows fuse number 1 it controls the brake light and the shift interlock switch I have replaced the brake light switch the interlock shift and the dimmer switch for the dash lights was going bad I replaced that it is still blowing the fuse when I touch the brake peadle it blows instant I dont know what else the plm could be checked the wires cant seem to find a short any where anything would help

Check for wrong bulbs
check wiring harness for a short to ground

I have not put any bulb in it the all work fine when I start the car they all light up but when I touch brake it blows I have checked the brake light wires but if it is a short would it be in the brake pedeal cause when I touch it it blows the fuse also when the fuse blows it will not come out of park because the shift interlock thing and am I right that fuse one is for hazzrd lights brake interlock and brake lights or is that wrong thanks

Ok I got question if I take the brae light switch out of thecar and the fuse does ot blow is the brake light switch the plm to start with it is brand new but my b/f dad seems to think it is faulty any help I would appricate thanks and the ground wire looks good and all other wires look new cant find a short but didnt know how powr works with brake light switch out
