I have a 1993 Ford taurus SHO,185,000 miles.
recently I went to start engine and it started and ran for 10 sec then quit and wouldn't restart, it would crank. but not start. after some diognostics I determined that the Ignition control mod went bad so I replaced and car started ran good for week then I was driving and came up to a stop and engine quit and wouldn't restart. now sometimes it will start but run rough and sometime not start at all

The prime suspect here is the cam position sensor. When this sensor fails, the computer does not know whether #1 is in the compression or exhaust stroke, so it takes a guess. There is a 50% chance that the engine will start.
