Hi...I am having problem with my car battery (or may be alternator). The problem is that if I dont use my car for 36-48 hours, the battery drains. Due to this problem I have to start my car every day for some time so that the battery remain charged. I know that its not a battery problem cuz I have recently put a new battery in my car. I wanna know that whats causing my battery to drain even if the car is off and how can I get rid of this problem...? Is there any fuse for battery that I can remove when I am not using my car so that the battery does not drain??

Hi there,

You will have to get a current draw test done, this will show and current draw on the battery with the key off, you mechanic should know how to do this test, if not i will advise on the procedure.

Thanks Mark,

Few min ago I did the current draw test. My car is drawing 1.6 Amp (with the key off). It is alright or is it too much?? How much current should the car draw with the key off??

Hi there,

That is to much, around .2 amps would be ok. start pulling fuses to check for the suspect circuit,
