Just took my Ford Taurus to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and was told that the radiator was almost empty & that there are mild to moderate engine & transmission leaks. I would like to know what kind of problem and/or repair these issues indicate. The Jiffy Lube technician initially said it needed a transmission flush at 60,000 miles, but that was done at 48,000. Should it need it again & do you think that is related to the radiator being empty?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

The transmission will not have any bearing on the coolant loss, first get the cooling system pressure tested as this will locate any external coolant leaks, as for the trans, i would not be doing another flush as it is not going to achieve any positive results so soon after the last one, just have a qualified mechanic, inspect and report on the engine & transmission leaks, they will advise you on the best action for this after they have inspected them.
