driving car apx 15 miles notice mist & smoke smells like something burning. coming from defrost area no defrost is on or fan opened hood no smoke or smell only from inside of car.turn defroster on once since i hade car,totally fogged up the windows looked like smoke but after 5 minutes totally cleaned up.

i would suspect a possible bad heater core. did it have a sweet antifreezy type smell? notice any fluid on passanger side floor? low coolant level?

It's a bad heater core .meantime had to bypass heater core. so i wouldn't keep losing fluid. untill i get some help. is that a bad thing. whats the worst case by bypassing haeter core.

knew it! there is no harm in going and bypassing it. just no heat and the windows could fog up and that may be a hazard. other then that you wont damage nothign.
