1999 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 automatic supercab. The truck lurches when slowing down to a stop or starting from a stop. It is jerky when stopping and starting. It almost feels like it is down shifting, but I don't think it is. Other than this the transmission shifts fine. The engine runs good. The trans has 80k miles and has a new filter and fluid.

Your fluid is probably low start the the truck drive it about five or ten miles then let it idle in park run through all the gears and check the fluid it should be in the cross hatched when you check it
