Manual trans fluid type
I was told that the fluid type for my 97 ranger manual trans is mercron auto trans fluid. Is this correct and what weight should the fluid be?

Use Standard Transmission Lube SAE 80 in the Mitsubishi 5-speed transmission, and Mercon in the Mazda M5OD transmission.
ATF has no weight designations. Check your owners manual, vin number, or door plate to be sure of Transmission type.
