Ford Ranger cracked cylinder head

Ford Ranger 2000 V6 75K showing signs of coolant leak in the oil -so far no other problems. Mechanic discovered this while changing oil. He tells me cracked cylinder head is common in this year/make. How do I know for sure I really have a problem and what are ramifications of continuing to drive the truck as is?

well, it could be a cracked head or a bad head gasket. youd have to take it off and examine it. if you continue to drive it like this you willl have loss of power, loss of gas mileage, and eventually your oil will be deluted down enough that it wont beable to properly lube the engine, resulting in burning it up. also it could bust the radiator hoses and worse, the radiator.
